This blog began as a journal of my adventures in clean eating but as I progressed into the reading I discovered I didn’t want to just eat clean.  After many years of wishing I could be veg, I decided now was the time to go for it.

I am soon-to-be 40.  I am a wife and a mother to two absolutely beautiful boys.  I work full-time as a secretary…as sedentary as you can get.  Other than occasionally chasing the boys down, I don’t get much real exercise.  I have a gym membership but still have not made the time to go and take care of myself.

Enough is enough. After suffering for 3 years with the after effects of a medical mistake that took my healthy gall bladder, I have decided that a plant based diet would be the thing that would help me turn my health around.  The good thing is since I do most of the shopping and cooking, my family has no choice but to come along for the ride although I don’t intend to force them into a lifestyle change that I have chosen.  I do hope that they will follow though.

  1. I just saw your Tweet about Stage IV melanoma. Is this your first diagnosis of melanoma? I am so sorry to hear this. My husband is Stage III. turmeric, foods with Vitamin D, carrots, and tomatoes are always on our menu. Some people with melanoma follow the controversial Gerson therapy which is very heavy carrot juicing and coffee enemas. You can see my blog for our story and others with melanoma. Sending my best to you. Emily http://www.emandmichael.com
